The central objective of this working paper produced by Jean-Christophe Diepart and Thol Sem, is to examine the recognition and formalisation of peasants’ land rights against the backdrop of Cambodian history and political economy of land and agrarian change.

It aims to understand how colonialism, war, socialism and the regional integration against a neoliberal background have shaped the land rights of smallholder farmers in contemporary Cambodia.

O acampamento de “Sem Terra” ( Assentameno Alegre), do Pov. This Decree sets forth provisions on land classification, cadastral information system, change in the category of agricultural land and pastures, change in the category of lands affected by radioactive and chemical contamination and degraded by natural hazards, expansion of lands in forests and protected areas, and the procedures and principles for the change in the category of land. This Decree shall apply to agricultural land under the condition that the intended purpose does not change.

La presente Ley establece normas tendientes al control y prevención de todo proceso de degradación de los suelos; a la recuperación, habilitación y mejoramiento de las tierras para la producción; y a la promoción de la educación conservacionista. These Rules concern procedures of the Africans on Private Estates Tribunal as established under section 18 of the Africans on Private Estates Act. Application to the Tribunal shall be made only by a person (including the Government) aggrieved by an act, omission or determination of any other person under the Act.
