This Act, consisting of 221 sections divided into 17 Parts and completed by four Schedules, makes provisions with respect to land tenure rights, conveyance of lands, easements, transfer of land, leases, mortgages, and various other matters relative to the registration of titles, use of land rights, transfer of land, etc.
The present Law lays down provisions relating to the keeping of the land register of Brandenburg. Measuring of land as well as holding the land property register are both public tasks which according to the present Law are carried out by the Office of Land Mapping and Information of Brandenburg and by other local public entities.
Article 29 shall be amended to add item 51 of the following wording: “51. The authorized state institution can establish other types of information that can be released by the state register of immovable property, rights and transactions therewith, with the consideration of restrictions to release such information as envisaged by this article.”
This Law amends several articles of the Programme on “Minha Casa, Minha Vida” dealing with the regularization of urban settlements. The amended articles deal with financial aspects, legal and administratives proceedings, sustainable urban projects authorization criteria, etc.
The present Law implements the Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE).

This Act establishes the Registrar General who shall keep four separate and distinct indexes of: (a) Deeds; (b) probates of Wills and Letters of Administration; (c) judgments, decrees, orders and rules; and (d) memoranda of lis pendens. The Act also provides for examination of documents and certified copies and grants the power to make Rules to the Registrar General.
This Act makes provision for the registration and execution of deeds. It also provides for the protection of purchasers and mortgagees. For the purposes of this Act a memorandum of a statutory lease executed in accordance with the provisions of the Land Tenants (Security of Tenure) Act, shall be deemed to be a deed registrable under this Act.
This Act establishes a Land Survey Board under section 3. The Board shall be chaired by a Director of Surveys, the duties and functions of which are set out in section 11.Responsibilities of the Board are set out in section 5. The Director of Surveys shall be the custodian of the Survey Register in which surveys shall be entered (sect. 14).
