The purpose of the present Agreement is to: a) exchange GEOINT (Geospatial Intelligence Information) Information for the use of both Parties for defence purposes; b) establish and implement cooperative production programmes, other cooperative efforts and co-production programmes; c) establish and implement mutual technical assistance. This comprehensive Agreement between Canada, British Columbia and the Tla’amin Nation is a Treaty and a Land Claims Agreement within the meaning of sections 25 and 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. The Agreement exhaustively sets out the rights of Tla’amin First Nation, their attributes, the geographic extent of those rights, and the limitations to those rights to which the Parties have agreed.

This comprehensive Agreement is a Treaty and a Land Claims Agreement within the meaning of sections 25 and 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982.

The present Agreement is the first combined land, resources and self-government Agreement in the Northwest Territories. Canada, the Government of the Northwest Territories(GNWT) and the Tlicho are Parties to the Agreement. The Agreement provides the Tlicho with ownership of a single block of 39,000 square kilometres of land, including subsurface resources, adjacent to or surrounding the four Tlicho communities. The Agreement also provides for self-government. A regional Tlicho Government was created with law-making authority over Tlicho Citizens in their communities and on their lands.

This Federal Law modifies paragraph 1 of article 24 in the following manner: "In case of sale of a share in the common property to an outsider the owner must attach to the application form for the state registration the documentation confirming that the co-owners had been informed of the forthcoming transaction , of the price of share and the conditions of sale.

This Act, consisting of 52 sections divided into ten Parts, provides for the internal rules of the Land Court. It is divided as follows: preliminary (Part 1), starting proceedings (Part 2), ending proceeding early (Part 3), court supervision (Part 4), evidence (Part 5), jurisdiction of judicial registrar (Part 6), hearing proceedings (Part 7), orders (Part 8), appeals to the Land Appeal Court (Part 9) and miscellaneous (Part 10).

Purpose of the Agreement is to resolve all pending boundary differences between the two countries, and provide for maintaining the Rio Grande and the Colorado River as the international boundary. It provides procedures designed to avoid the loss or gain of territory by either country incident to future changes in the river. The contracting States agree to establish and recognize their maritime boundaries in the Gulf of Mexico and in the Pacific ocean according to the provisions of article V.
