The present Law shall apply to all matters concerning expropriation and consequences of expropriation proceedings in the Canton Luzern. Nauru Lands Committee Ordinance 1956-1963.

This Ordinance makes provision for the establishment of Nauru Lands Committee, defines its functions and powers and its internal organization. The Committee has power to determine questions as to the ownership of, or rights in respect of, land, which arise between Nauruans or Pacific Islanders or between Nauruans and Pacific Islanders. The Ordinance also regulates appeals from decisions of the Committee. The constitution and procedure of the Committee shall be as determined by the Nauru Local Government Council.

Public Lands Ordinance (Cap. 116).

This Ordinance makes provision with respect to the compulsory acquisition of lands for public purposes and compensation for such acquisition to the landowner. It sets out the procedure for such acquisition and subsequent registration of land. The Governor may be required to purchase the rest of a piece of land if only a part was acquired and the rest is rendered useless to the owner. It shall be lawful for the Minister to resell any land purchased under this rule. The Ordinance also makes provision for resolution of disputed regarding compensation, etc.

This Order of the President made under section 19 of the Tribal Land Act, 1968, amends the Schedule to the principal Order by establishing the Mogoditshane Subordinate Land Board. As a consequence the Third Column of the Schedule of the principal Order is amended by deleting some territories listed under other Subordinate Lands Boards.

Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management.

The present Agreement is an initiative by 14 First Nations to take over the management and control of their lands and resources. The Agreement sets out the principle components of this new land management process. Furthermore, the present Agreement provides First Nations with all legal status and powers needed to manage and govern their lands and resources. While First Nations will not be able to sell their land, they will be able to lease or develop their lands and resources, subject to any limits imposed by their own community in laws and Land Codes.

The present Agreement constitutes a final settlement of the aboriginal rights of the Labrador Inuit in Canada and exhaustively sets out the rights of the Labrador Inuit that recognized and confirmed by section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. In exchange for the rights and benefits specified in the Agreement, Inuit will cede and release to Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador all of their aboriginal rights outside of Labrador Inuit Lands and Aboriginal rights related to subsurface resources in Labrador Inuit Lands.

The present Agreement outlines the relationships and obligations between the Iniut of the Nunavut Settlement Area and Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada. This Agreement – also referred to as Nunavut Land Claims Agreement - is a land claims agreement between the Inuit of the Nunavut Settlement Area (part of the Northwest Territories) and the Government of Canada subject to the Constitution Act of 1982. The lands are not deemed to be "Lands Reserved for Indians" with respect to the Constitution Act of 1867.
