El presente Decreto tiene por objeto la implementación de la Ley Nº 23.302 en lo que se refiere a la estructura y funcionamiento del Instituto Nacional de Asuntos Indígenas. This regulation implements the Area Development Act by establishing the Zoning Appeal Board, regulates its membership and operation. Under section 15, the Board has the same powers and privileges as are granted to a Judge for summoning and compelling attendance of witnesses, administering oaths to witnesses, and calling for the production of documents.

This regulation implements the Area Development Act and designates the Pine Lake Recreational Area as a development area. The regulation provides for the development of the area defining prohibited and allowable uses of the area. Under section 8, construction activities in the area are subject to approval of the development officer.

On the basis of the present Ordinance, all rights and liabilities, whether vested or contingent, relating to immovable property belonging to, or possessed, held or administered by the Government, or relating to the administration thereof, to which the Accountant General was entitled shall be transferred to the Commissioner of Land.

These Regulations regulate sale of crown lands. Applications for crown lands shall be made to the Minister. The Chief Surveyor shall order a survey of crown land to be sold. An agreement shall be signed between the Chief Surveyor on behalf of the Government and the applicant in the form as set out in the Schedule.

The Cabinet may, by Order, allot to the Saint Lucia National Trust established by the Saint Lucia National Trust Act, 1975 the administrative control of any lands or interests therein owned by the Crown and thereupon the lands or interests so allotted shall be held and dealt with by the Trust in accordance with the Act of 1975.

No person shall without prior approval of the Board as defined in the Natural Resources Act cultivate or permit to be cultivated any land or destroy any vegetation in the vicinity of specified inland waters. The Board may, when granting approval, impose such terms as deemed necessary for the protection of natural resources.

The Rule provides for the issuance of a reclamation fee which must be paid by the owner of land irrigated by a system of intertwined canals.
