The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Ordinance on the electronic exchange of zoning data between municipalities and the Canton.

The present Ordinance implements the Planning and Building Law of 3 December 1978. In particular, the purpose of the present Ordinance is to regulate the exchange of data between municipalities and the Canton. Article 2 establishes that municipalites shall submit their land use plans in electronic form within the term fixed in article 3 of the present Ordinance. The text cosists of 7 articles as follows: Purpose (1); Principle (2); Term (3); Requirements (4); Sovereign data (5); Exchange of data (6); Entry into force (7).

Article 7.1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Lease contract for agricultural land, destined for haymaking and grazing, pertaining to public or municipal property shall be concluded for the maximum period of three years”.

Foreshore and Seabed Endowment Revesting Act (No. 103 of 1991).

The principal aim of this Act is to revoke certain endowments of foreshore and seabed so as to revest them in the Crown. In particular, it applies to land formerly, and at the date of commencement of this Act, alienated from the Crown and vested in Harbour Boards or local authorities as well as land that has been reclaimed from the sea unlawfully (sect. 4). The "foreshore" is defined as such parts of the bed, shore, or banks of the sea or river as are covered and uncovered by the flow and ebb of the tide at mean spring tides.

Regional Law No. 1770-OD “On service land allotment”.

This Regional Law establishes categories of workers that shall be granted the right of land allotment for the length of service. The aforesaid land shall be isolated form land stock pertaining to forest management organizations, hunting management organizations, state nature reserves and national parks and shall be allotted to the staff of the aforesaid organizations for length of service as free of charge land tenure for a limited period of time. Land area of the allotted land parcels shall comply with minimum and maximum regional rates of land allotment.

The questionnaire attached to Decision 1999/391/EC is replaced by the questionnaire attached to this Decision. The Member States shall use this questionnaire as a basis for drawing up the report to be submitted to the Commission pursuant to article 5 of Directive 91/692/EEC and article 16(3) of Directive 96/61/EC covering the period 2003 to 2005.
