The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

La presente Resolución deroga la que aprueba la Norma para la determinación de valores oficiales de terrenos rústicos a nivel nacional, por subsistir conflicto de competencias administrativas.

This Decree-law concerns the land valuation system based on the complex effect of climatic features and soil quality as featured in the national uniform soil map. Land valuation procedures are to be applied to agricultural land and forests in the outskirts and in closed gardens and to large-scale cultivation in urban land. The Minister supervises land valuation through the executive board of county (capital) councils. Territorially competent land administration offices have first-level jurisdiction. Land quality should be determined on the basis of samples.

This Regional Law regulates some issues in the sphere of organization, protection and management of protected areas. Regional protected areas shall be classified as follows: (a) natural parks; (b) state nature reserves: (c) nature monuments; and (d) dendrological parks and botanical gardens. The following protected areas shall be set up on the regional territory: (a) scientific research permanent establishments; and (b) landscape natural parks. Special protection zone shall be set up around protected areas with a view of prevention of negative anthropogenic impact.

These Regulations, consisting of 3 sections, implement provisions of the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992. The Regulations provide for administrative and legal proceedings requirements to Neighbouring Land access, which may be established by the court under section 5(4)(a) of the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992 if the owner of the subject land, or other person whose agreement to the entry on the subject land is required, cannot be found. The court may make an order for substituted service if satisfied that the applicant cannot find the owner of the subject land.

Transformation is carried out by land administration offices in light of changes in data regarding real estate. Transformation is based on data contained in maps and other documents resulting from related procedures. This data should be supervised during the transformation procedure. Transformed land registers should be exhibited and appeals may be lodged against incorrect data.
