This Law establishes an Electrical Inspectorate and an Electrical Board of Examiners and provides rules for the licensing of all categories of persons carrying out electrical work in the Cayman Islands. It also provides rules for the carrying out of such works and supervision and control by the Inspectorate. The Act also concerns the compulsory acquisition of land or wayleaves by licensees.

This Decree makes provision with respect to the transfer of interests in land. It provides rules relative form and procedure of such transfer and defines the effects of conveyance. The Decree concerns also the recording of oral grant of interest in land under customary law and sets out the content of implied covenants for the transfer of various interests in land, including leasehold.

This Decree provides for the protection of public land from unlawful deeds, occupation, trespass or other illegal encroachment or interference.The Decree prescribes penalties for unlawful sale or occupation of public land and provides for the ejection of trespassers. The Decree further defines “public land” and defines responsibility for offences committed by legal juristic persons.

This Decree provides rules for the stipulation and execution of a mortgage and defines the effects of a mortgage and relative rights and duties of mortgagors and mortgagees.The rules of this Decree shall govern all mortgages. A mortgage may be created in any interest in movable property which is alienable.

The present Law lays down provisions relating to expropriation and seizure proceedings in the Canton Basel-Stadt.

Section 8L on Remission of rates has been added and the amendment included in Section 2 shall enter into force as per the 12th November 1979.
