A key challenge facing South Africa’s economic development is overcoming the structural poverty created through the systematic dispossession of the majority of its citizens. Although radically marginalized during apartheid, there is poor public acknowledgement of the losses experienced by those families who, through the passing of various racially biased, land and labour laws, became farm labour on commercial farms.

Oxfam and its local partners have observed the development of a number of agro-forestry enterprises in some project areas. Oxfam shares some community experiences in central provinces of Quang Tri, Quang Binh and Nghe An to contribute to the upcoming meeting of Ministers and Ambassadors in central Vietnam.

The Myanmar government introduced two new land laws in 2012 as part of an effort to liberalize land markets. This report analyzes the implementation of these laws using theory, field research, and a comparative regional analysis. It also offers recommended interventions.

The purpose of this sub-decree is to privatize forest reserve of which size is 594 hectares, and grant social land concessions to military families living in Srekor Commune and Talat commune, Sesan district, Stung Treng province.

The land from forest cover 2002 in total amount of 5382 hectares, including 3 locations such as Ta Lou commune of Bakan district for 2286 hectares, Santreae commune of Kravanh district for 548 hectares and Pramaoy commune of Veal Veng district for 2588 hectares in Pursat province was privatized for social land concession to allocate to former armed forces and their families.

The purposes of this sub-decree are to classify state permanent forest reserve land, of which size is 4,615 hectares in Kantout commune, Choam Ksant district, Preah Vihear province; to grant social land concessions for military and police families; and to establish a new village named Senchey village.

52.5 hectares of permanent preserved forest located in Teuk Krahom commune, Choam Ksant district, Preah Vihear province were privatized for granting to the Military families and Police officers.

The 1288 hectare of state land which was cut out from Bokor Monivong National Park from forest cover 2002 in Techo Aphivat commune, Chhuk district, Kampot province was privatized for social land concession to allocate to former armed forces and their families.

The reserve forest of which size is 69 hectares in Kork Mon commune, Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province was privatized to distribute social land concessions to military and police families and to establish a village named Thmor Daun.

The 2123.99 hectares of state land in Som Aoung village, Meanrith commune, Sandan district, Kampong Thom province was privatized for social land concession to allocate to landless and land-poor people.

This sub-decree grants the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries the authority to manage 668 hectares of forest reserve and to register it as private state land with the objective of granting social land concessions to military and police families and establishing Techo Bosbov village in Preah Vihear province.

The land from forest cover 2002 in total amount of 3753 hectares, including 4 locations such as Svay Chreah commune of Snoul district for 777.90 hectares, O'Krieng commune of Sambor district for 352.64 hectares, Kbal Damrei commune of Sambor district for 1122.46 hectares and Chambok commune of Preak Prasab district for 1500 hectares in Kratie province was privatized for social land concession to allocate to former armed forces and their families, and general poor people.
