El presente Texto Único de la Ley Nº 41, Ley General de Ambiente, que comprende las reformas aprobadas por la Ley Nº 18 de 2003, la Ley Nº 44 de 2006, la Ley Nº 65 de 2010 y la Ley Nº 8 de 2015, reconociendo que la administración del ambiente es una obligación del Estado, por tanto, mediante la presente Ley, establece los principios y normas básicas para la protección, conservación y recuperación del ambiente, promoviendo el uso sostenible de los recursos naturales.

Cette loi a pour objet de définir le cadre juridique adéquat pour une gestion participative des oasis et des zones assimilées pour le développement durable de leurs ressources, ainsi que la détermination des règles générales applicables à leur protection et à leur mise en valeur. Elle comporte 35 articles répartis en 3 chapitres, à savoir: Dispositions generales (i); Cadres de gestion (ii); Dispositions relatives à la mise en valeur et à la protection du milieu oasien (iii).

No person shall without prior approval of the Board as defined in the Natural Resources Act cultivate or permit to be cultivated any land or destroy any vegetation in the vicinity of specified inland waters. The Board may, when granting approval, impose such terms as deemed necessary for the protection of natural resources. The Board may withdraw approval if a person fails to comply with the terms prescribed. (7 regulations)

This Act provides for local government of Amerindians, i.e. an Indian who is a member of a tribe indigenous to Guyana. For this purpose Amerindian Districts, Amerindian Areas and Amerindian Villages are established.The Act also provides for the protection of property of Amerindians and establishes the Amerindian Purposes Fund. The Minister may establish District Councils or Area Councils as a body corporate. The Councils shall, among other things, manage and regulate the use and occupation of land situated in a District, Area or Village.

This Law aims to manage and develop the pasture by identifying the areas of rough grazing, planning the grazing according to scientific bases, protecting the natural vegetation, conserving water resources and organizing their use, and conducting studies and researches for the protection of rough grazing. The provisions of this Law concern the state-owned properties allocated for pasture and exclude cultivated lands and other particular cases.

These Rules are made under 26.0303 A.S.C. which provides for proper development planning so as to safeguard public health, the environment and economic growth and well-being in American Samoa and establishes a Zoning Board. In order to carry out the purposes and provisions of this Chapter, areas within the territory of Samoa are divided into ten zones, amongst others, an Agricultural Zone, a Watershed Conservation Zone and a Recreation Conservation Zone. For each zone permitted activities are specified.
