The paper analysis the problems based on the fact that development of the real estate market make it possible for people to choose the most suitable accommodation not only in winter, but also in summer vacation.
Still, more agricultural land is getting abandoned in Slovenia, specially in less favored areas. Such process of degradation of fertile land is most intensively present in the Obalno-kraska region and Goriska. Similar happens with grassland in mountain region as less and less animals which are suitable for that region are bred there.
Urban construction is a continuous process. Plans and concepts get changed, but the idea of homogeneous development is crucial, it should go together with the surrounding processes. The Development Strategy of Kuldiga is: “… to conserve its unique cultural heritage – the complex of old town and nature...”, as it is put in the Development Programme of Kuldiga [1].
