GIS-based analysis of content of large-scale soil maps

Conference Papers & Reports
Dezembro, 2016
Latvia
Belarus

The prospect of GIS technology to create and to use of soil maps is stated. Conducted a GIS analysis of soil cover the territory of Cherven District showed the predominance of retisols of large areas isomorphic and asymmetrical shapes, three times less than the average area for podzols with isomorphic form. The most complicated form of areas marked for alluvial soil types. Their coefficients of irregularity boundaries typically less than 0.2, and are fluvial forms of areas.

There is a trend to acquire high accuracy land-cover maps using multi-source classification methods, most of which are based on data fusion, especially pixel- or feature-level fusions. A probabilistic graphical model (PGM) approach is proposed in this research for 30 m resolution land-cover mapping with multi-temporal Landsat and MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data. Independent classifiers were applied to two single-date Landsat 8 scenes and the MODIS time-series data, respectively, for probability estimation. A PGM was created for each pixel in Landsat 8 data.

Acidification du sol

Policy Papers & Briefs
Outubro, 2016

Overview of AW3Dsup(TM) global 3D map service'3D Maps That You Look at' change to '3D Map That You Can Use'

AW3Dsup(TM), the world's most precise global 3D map service, became the world's first five-meter-resolution 3D map covering all global land spaces in April 2016 by using Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS). In addition to five-meter-resolution global map, enhanced service offers a higher-resolution 3D map at half-meter or two-meter resolution, both of which are offered on an on-demand basis using commercial high-resolution satellite imagery. This paper introduces the project history, technical characteristics, service contents, use cases and future prospects of AW3Dsup(TM).

Forest land conversion dynamics: a case of Pakistan

Peer-reviewed publication
Outubro, 2016
Pakistan

The present research focuses on estimating forest area change with respect to the ongoing forest land conversion. The study tests the hypothesis that forest land is being converted to the selected land use categories with high growth tendency and controlling deforestation rate to its half of the present level would significantly improve the land cover under forest. The rate of forest land conversion to other land use categories is analyzed and then compared with the total area expanded under three land use classes.

Proved that the concept and nature of the terms «land use management» and «land use
planning» in Ukraine are not identical. Determined that land use management is the next
phase of land use planning, it is a kind of its functional superstructure.

PRIORITY DIRECTIONS OF PROVISION OF STABLE LAND USE

Peer-reviewed publication

The conditions of stable land use are highlighted in this article. The question
of the territory of agricultural enterprises is considered as well. The characteristic
of the type of land use is given here. The recommendations are shown on the formation
of ecologically safe types of land use. In the terms of new land relations is important to
resolve the issue of land use regulation to with stand landscapes against adverse natural
and anthropogenic influences. The main instrument of the state, which aims
