These Regulations specify, in the Schedules, permitted development, i.e. development permitted without the requirement to apply for or obtain a grant of development permission.
These Regulations concern the administration and decision-making process of the Physical Planning Board established under the Physical Planning Ordinance. The Board shall be responsible, among other things, for the handling of applications for planning permission.

Incentives in the form of grants are available for measures which aim at prevention or reduction of erosion of the soil of arable land. The projects shall be planned and executed in cooperation with the Norwegian Water and Energy Company. Plans shall be designed by the Company or others to be designated by the Company.
The provisions of this Decree of the Ministry of Environment apply to all activities which comport a change in the natural environment or the landscape including drilling for oil and industrial activities. As a rule, plans for such activities shall be submitted for approval to Department at least 1 year before they are implemented (sect. 2).
