The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Sections 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the principal Act are repealed by this Act. The repeal of sections 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the principal Act shall not affect: (a) any declaration, order, or rule made, certificate authority or permit granted, registration effected or other thing done; or (b) any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred. Section 9 is amended accordingly.

An Act to provide for matters relating to land within urban areas or urban communities declared by Order of the Minister in accordance with sections 2 and 3. The leases on land situated within urban communities are transferable freely between natural persons and/or bodies corporate subject to the following provisions: (a) all applications for the transfer of leases shall continue to be submitted to the Ministry of Lands for approval with copies given to the custom owners or their legal representative, or to the Municipality in the case of public land.

This Act amends the Kerala Land Conservancy Act, 1957.Amendments include: word changes to the long title and to the preamble; substitution of section 7 with a new section on punishments for the unauthorized occupation of land which is property of the Government; substitution of sections 8 and 9 with new sections on offences; minor word changes to sections 11, 14, 16, 17 and 19; omission of clause (a) and (b) of section 13; and substitution of section 20A(1) on bar of jurisdiction of Civil Courts.

This Regulation implements the Crown Lands and Forests Act by making detailed provisions on leasing. The Regulation distinguishes the classes of leases of Crown lands, defines respective rentals and the conditions for issuing leases and for their management.

The present Regulations are made under the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000. For the purpose of the Regulations «development» is defined very broadly and the definition includes the carrying out of any building, engineering, mining or other operations in, on, over or under land, or the making of any material change in the use or the intensity of use of any land, buildings or premises. In particular, the Regulations set out standards for land-use zones for Newfoundland in general and the City of St. John's in particular.
