The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Act makes provision for the acquisition and disposal of lands by the Crown, for the vesting of land in the Crown and the lease of land by the Crown.All land and public works formerly vested in the Governor-in-Executive Committee shall, pursuant to this Act, vest in the Crown. The Minister may purchase, lease, take, accept or otherwise acquire land for use by the Crown in accordance with provisions of this Act. The Minister may also grant leases, licences of use, easements, etc. on such lands. The Minister may make rules regarding use of such lands.
National Land Code (Act No. 56 of 1965).
Main object of the Code is to ensure uniformity of law and policy with respect to land tenure, registration of titles relating to land, transfer of land, leases and charges in respect of land, easements and other rights and interests in land.
Regional Decree No. 181-a “On the modalities of performance of municipal land control”.
This Regional Decree establishes the modalities of performance of municipal land control by local government. Municipal land control shall be conducted in the form of ordinary and extraordinary inspections of legal persons and individual entrepreneurs. The subject of inspection shall be checking data and information contained in the documentation related to land tenure. The scope of inspection shall be to control compliance by land tenant with compulsory legislative requirements related to land tenure with a view of prevention and suppression of unauthorized transactions with land.
Decree on the preparartion of flood hazard maps and flood risk maps.
This Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Regional development, which is composed of ten articles and one Annex, provides details on the preparation of flood hazard maps and flood risk maps, reimbursement of expenses for their development, review and update, and designing and displaying the range of inundation area maps.

La présente loi modifie et complète les dispositions de divers articles du Code de l'aménagement du territoire et de l'urbanisme, relatifs, entre autres, à la procedure de délimitation des zones nécéssitant d'un plan d'aménagement urbain, à la modification totale ou partielle d'un lotissement approuvé et aux plans d'aménagement de détail.
