Libéria

Na Libéria, as questões relativas à terra e aos recursos naturais estão diretamente relacionadas com a paz, a prosperidade e a reconstrução. Após as guerras civis (1989-1997, 1999-2003) - alimentadas em parte por conflitos sobre os direitos à terra e aos recursos naturais e financiadas com madeira e diamantes - o país passou por um longo período de reforma abrangente que resultou na Lei de Direitos da Terra de 2018. A nova lei de terras é celebrada como um marco em toda a região, promovendo o acesso equitativo à terra e aos recursos, a segurança da posse, o investimento e o desenvolvimento.
