The Act provides for acquisition of private land by the Crown and related procedures.The Act consists of 36 sections divided into 8 Parts: Preliminary (I); Compulsory Acquisition of land and Abandonment of Acquisition (II); Appointment and Powers of Board of Assessment (III); Determination of Small Claims for Compensation (IV); Provisions Governing Assessment of Compensation, etc.

This Act shall apply to every tenancy as defined in section 3 of the Landlord and Tenant Act in respect to any land, other than national land or land within a town, and is created under a contract that: (a) is not in writing; or (b) does not provide for a term certain of more than two years; or (c) does provide for a term certain of more than two years and contains a provision whereby either th

There shall be appointed a Commissioner of Lands and Surveys who shall, subject to this Act: (a) direct, supervise and control all public surveys; (b) ensure that all surveys and plans are effected in accordance with the laws of Belize. The Commissioner may by notice published in the Gazette delegate any of his or her functions under this Act to any officer of the Lands and Surveys.

Section 3 defines kinds of land holding tenancies, i.e., tenancy for years, a tenancy from year to year, a tenancy for less than a year, a tenancy at will and a tenancy on sufferance.

The Act makes provision for prescription in respect of claims relative to water or land pursuant to common law by custom, prescription or grant.

The property in the Republic of Uzbekistan is inviolate. Every person has a right for property. The existence of any form of property is allowed in the Republic of Uzbekistan which promotes the efficient functioning of the economy and the growth of the people's well-being. Housing legislation consists of the present Code and other legislative acts. Land legislation and legislation on architecture and urban construction shall be applicable in the field of housing relations if the aforesaid are not regulated by housing legislation.

The main targets of state housing policy are concession of compensation to low-income categories of citizens for the payment of communal services, stimulation by the state of the maintenance of housing facilities by economic and financial means, creation of favourable vital environment equipped with the necessary social, communal, cultural and other services.

The purpose of the present Law shall be to determine the legal status of the registration of immovable property organization and to regulate matters relating to the registration and protection of rights of ownership of immovable property, other than property owned by the State and local property for public use.

The purpose of this Law is to regulate relations arising from the matters of powers of the legislative and executive organs concerning ownership rights on state and local property, level of authority of a legal person with state property and its administration, principle and regulations of activity of an organ implementing policy on state property.

La presente Ley contiene el Código Rural, el cual constituye el conjunto ordenado y sistemático de las normas administrativas, reglamentarias, de policía y jurisdiccionales de aplicación en el orden rural. Fija asimismo las normas que rigen el ejercicio, los derechos y obligaciones derivados de la actividad rural en cualquiera de sus especializaciones.
