Au même titre que les autres ressources, les territoires forestiers sont accaparés. Des entreprises, souvent avec l'appui des États, dégradent ces territoires et dépossèdent les populations locales de leurs lieux de vie ou des ressources dont dépendent leurs conditions de vie. Ces territoires sont mis en péril par des concessions d'exploitation des forêts et des ressources minières, des projets hydroélectriques ou d’infrastructures de transport, des concessions touristiques, de chasse, par l'expansion des surfaces agricoles ou encore l'exploitation illégale de bois.

In many Asian, African, and South American nations, indigenous people are being driven from their homes: Government authorities are leasing hundreds of thousands of hectares of land belonging to indigenous people who only in the rarest of cases possess deeds to the land that are recognised by the authorities. Although in many cases their ancestors have lived on the land for centuries, these rights were never recorded in the land registries. The way of life and the livelihood of many indigenous peoples are severely threatened by their land being sold off.

"Article 1. The purposes of this Sub-Decree are to determine principles, procedures, and mechanisms for the registration of land of indigenous communities as collective title.

Article 2. The objectives of this Sub-Decree are to provide indigenous communities with legal rights over land tenure, to ensure land tenure security, and to protect collective ownership by preserving the identity, culture, good custom and tradition of each indigenous community."

In this fact finding, we will look at the impact of wildlife conservations in pastoralists areas. The Wildlife sector has become a threat to livestock sectors by which the wildlife sector is grabbing livestock grazing areas in the name of wild life conservation. In this fact finding we will look at the impact of established Randile Wildlife Management Area (RWMA) into the grazing area of Lolkisale village among other five villages forming the WMA.
