These Rules, for purposes of preventing erosion of the soil, place restrictions on the cultivation of land, the cutting of vegetation and the grazing of livestock on slopes exceeding a specified degree and near to watercourses. Exemptions may be granted by the Director of Agriculture, a provincial agricultural officer, a district agricultural committee or any authorized officer.

These Rules prescribe that only twenty or any lesser number of persons may be registered as the proprietors of any land, lease or charge where charge to the land restricts its user to any purpose other than agriculture and in the opinion of the registrar, the instrument presented for registration will have the effect of vesting the land, lease or charge in such persons jointly as partnership pr

These Regulations prescribe in the Schedule fees, costs and expenses which shall be charged and be payable in respect of loans and applications for loans granted under the Agricultural Finance Corporation Act. They also set out, in the Schedule, covenants and conditions implied in every mortgage relative to loans granted by the Corporation.

Every Water Court shall maintain a list of water projects in a water book for their jurisdictional district.

This Decree regulates Law No. 6.225 establishing the obligation of drawing up regional environmental plans in order to avoid or prevent soil erosion. It consists of 14 articles defining lands to be protected (specifying environmental requirements to be satisfied) according to the Ministry of Agriculture. Land authorized activity is specified in the text.

This Decree creates the protected area of "Alcobaça", within the Municipality of Petrópolis, State of Rio de Janeiro. It consists of 4 articles establishing the aforesaid protected area aimed to the preservation of water springs, the reduction of soil erosion and the protection of flora e fauna of the above-mentioned territory. In accordance with this Regulation the licensed activity is sub-divided in two groups: a) inspection of agricultural land for the purpose of the exposure of the eroded, saline, swamped soils; desertified soils, sedimentary soils, as a result of mining, reindeer pastures with the soil and vegetation damaged; b) soils contaminated by industrial waste and nuclear substances.

This Regulation regards pecuniary penalties for the infringement of the sanitary requirements in the field of environmental, food, water and land legislation. The fines may be of 3 types: 1). a fixed sum, 2). total monthly income multiplied by regarded number of times, 3). minimum monthly salary multiplied by regarded number of times.

The President decrees, in accordance with the legislation currently in force, to introduce the differentiation of the state property on natural resources by designation of federal natural resources. Federal natural resources include land, water, forest, subsoil, wildlife species and plant variety of national importance.
