Wageningen Environmental Research (also known as Alterra) is the Dutch research institute for our green living environment. We offer a combination of practical and scientific research in a multitude of disciplines related to the green world around us and the sustainable use of our living environment. Our expertise includes knowledge of water, nature, biodiversity, climate, landscape, forest, ecology, environment, soil, landscape and spatial planning, geo-information, remote sensing, flora and fauna, urban green, man and society etc.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Serving both developed and developing countries, FAO acts as a neutral forum where all nations meet as equals to negotiate agreements and debate policy. FAO is also a source of knowledge and information.
The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a leading global institution for development research, teaching and learning, and impact and communications, based at the University of Sussex.
The vision of the Land Portal Foundation is to improve land governance to benefit those with the most insecure land rights and the greatest vulnerability to landlessness through information and knowledge sharing.
The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) is an ACP-EU institution working in the field of information
The Open Data Institute (ODI)
The ODI was co-founded in 2012 by the inventor of the web Sir Tim Berners-Lee and artificial intelligence expert Sir Nigel Shadbolt to show the value of open data, and to advocate for the innovative use of open data to affect positive change across the globe.
VISION
GFAR makes agri-food research and innovation systems more effective, responsive and equitable, towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals
MISSION
Partners in GFAR, at national, regional and international levels, advocate for, and catalyse Collective Actions that strengthen and transform agri-food research and innovation systems
Our Mission
AidData is a research lab at William & Mary's Global Research Institute. We equip policymakers and practitioners with better evidence to improve how sustainable development investments are targeted, monitored, and evaluated. We use rigorous methods, cutting-edge tools, and granular data to answer the question: who is doing what, where, for whom, and to what effect?
Who we are
A unique blend of data, computing, agronomy, food and marketing scientists.
What we do
We collect, translate and enrich global food safety data by harnessing
emerging technologies to achieve greater visibility across the supply chain.
In a complex, dynamic and ever-changing world of big data and emerging technologies across the global food industry, our multi-stage process involves collecting, combining, cleaning, harmonizing and enriching data, to develop a truly high quality big database.
GODAN supports the proactive sharing of open data to make information about agriculture and nutrition available, accessible and usable to deal with the urgent challenge of ensuring world food security. It is a rapidly growing group, currently with over 317 partners from national governments, non-governmental, international and private sector organisations that have committed to a joint Statement of Purpose.
