Gender issues are relegated to the periphery in current debates and approaches concerning the sustainable governance of oil palm in Indonesia. However, ongoing research by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) points to the critical roles that women play as workers, smallholders and members of affected local communities. Gender inequities follow as oil palm expansion displaces local women from land on which they cultivate food crops.

La presente Resolución delega la función de conocimiento y cartografía geológica del subsuelo en la Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH), y delega en el Servicio Geológico Colombiano las funciones relacionadas con el conocimiento y cartografía geológica del subsuelo colombiano, excepto las delegadas a la ANH. La supervisión y el seguimiento de las funciones que por este acto se delegan estarán a cargo de las Direcciones de Minería Empresarial y de Hidrocarburos, cada una dentro de los sectores que les corresponde.

Las presentes disposiciones aportan algunas modificaciones al Decreto Supremo Nº 29.033 de 2007, el cual establece los procedimientos para el proceso de consulta y participación de los pueblos indígenas y originarios así como de las comunidades campesinas, cuando se pretenda desarrollar actividades hidrocarburíferas en sus tierras comunitarias de origen, propiedades comunitarias y tierras de ocupación y acceso. Las enmiendas tienen por objeto ampliar el alcance del procedimiento de consulta y de la participación de dichos pueblos y comunidades.

Council Directive 75/439/EEC on the disposal of waste oils.

The aim pursued by this Directive is the protection of the environment against the harmful effects caused by the discharge, treatment or deposit of waste oils. For the purposes of these provisions “waste oils” shall mean any liquid or semi-liquid used products totally or partially consisting of mineral or synthetic oil, including the oily residues from tanks, oil-water mixtures and emulsions. Member States must take all necessary measures to ensure the safe collection and disposal of waste oils.

This Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 27 articles, establishes provisions concerning compulsory treatment in the disposal of waste oils, conditions for collection of waste oils, obligations related to the sale of motor oil for transport, and reporting obligations to the European Commission. For the purposes of these provisions waste oil means mineral or synthetic oil in liquid or semi-liquid state, which is no longer appropriate for the use for which it was intended .

This Act provides for the establishment of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and for its powers and dutiesDuties of the Corporation shall include: carrying on business as an importer, exporter, seller, supplier or distributor of petroleum; and exploring, exploiting and producing petroleum. Provisions for the financing of the Corporation are outlined in the Act. To carry out the purposes of its business the Corporation may provide for the acquisition, requisition and use of any movable or immovable property.

This Decree validates the rates of maximum permissible rates of concentration of oil in land and soil as follows: (a) for urban land, land of subsidiary smallholding cooperatives, forest land, land of public water fund, agricultural land, environmental protection, recreational land and land of historical and cultural heritage 50 mg/kg; and (b) industrial land, transport, communications, energy, defence and other categories of land 100 mg/kg.

The Decree aims at implementing article 12 (paragraphs 2, 3 and 4) of Law No. 1650/86 and also aims at harmonizing the Greek legislative framework with the provisions of Council Directive 87/101/EEC on the disposal of waste oils so as to improve the efficiency of waste oil collection and to take more stringent measures for the purpose of environmental protection (article 1). The Decree lays down the necessary measures to ensure the safe collection and disposal of waste oils.
