These Regulations, made under section 67 of the Land Tenure Act, concerns procedures for allocation of plots of (agricultural) land and related matters. “Allocation” means the process used by the Government for the distribution or provision of a land as a right of occupancy or lease to an individual or a group of persons or legal persons or institutions and organizations.

This Decision approves the planning for the development of Viet Nam’s coastal economic zones.The aims of this Decision are to: develop coastal economic zones in order to boost overall development along Viet Nam’s coastline by paying attention to environmental protection; ensure the effective use of land, water surface and space in coastal economic zones; etc.

This Act provides rules for the registration of title or other interests in land and related matters and provides for the form of transfer of title in land or other interest in land such as mortgages, caveats, leases and easements.There shall continue to be a Registrar of Land who shall be the Chief Executive Officer responsible for the administration of this Act.

With the global expansion of urban areas, competition over both land and water resources is steadily increasing, especially within developing countries(FAO 2012; Kuslu 2007; CER 2009). The expansion of urban areas into agricultural areas, such as in Uzbekistan, has created competition for water between farmers and non-farmers (FAO 2002, 2005).

Increasing demographic pressure, economic development and resettlement policies in the Lower Mekong Basin induce greater population dependency on river flow to satisfy growing domestic and agricultural water demands. This dependency is particularly tight in upland areas where alternative water resources (groundwater) are scarce.

This Working Paper summarizes research conducted as part of the AgWater Solutions Project in Burkina Faso between 2009 and 2012. Researchers from the AgWater Solutions Project examined the potential for small reservoirs, inland valley cultivation and the use of motorized pumps.
