Central Asia is a region that is facing increasing problems in ensuring water supplies for ecosystems, agriculture and the population. Because of the melting glaciers and changes in the runoff regime, a decline in seasonal water availability and thus irrigated land is expected, leading to massive economic impacts. The project is working on the reforestation and planting of wasteland as an adaptation strategy as well as the protection and management of natural forests and biodiversity.
