The government is in the process of developing a national land use policy to regulate the planning and use of land for sustainable development, Land Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi has said.
Prof Kaimenyi observed that sound land governance is fundamental in achieving sustainable development and poverty reduction.

Morogoro — Three districts in Morogoro Region will have their land surveyed in a bid to help people access title deeds and proper management of their land.
Surveying land and allocating it for various purposes will be done in Ulanga, Malinyi and Kilombero districts, through implementation of the Land Tenure Support Programme (LTSP) for Tanzania that kicked off in January 2015.

Feb 23 A $144 million Kenyan wind power project backed by a joint venture between Macquarie Group and Old Mutual Investment Group has been cancelled due to opposition from local landowners and farmers, developer Kinangop Wind Park said on Tuesday.

A new LEGEND publication explores the aims and performance of DFID land programmes, including its work on strengthening tenure security for women.
The LEGEND Knowledge Management team has recently published a Portfolio Overview that looks across 24 DFID land programmes. It looks at how programmes are designed, where they work, what they do and how they have performed. It looks at both the main programmes that work on land governance and those that work on land to achieve a broader set of objectives.
