Forest Tenure

The Government of Kenya is in the process of establishing a National REDD+ Programme through the Kenya Forest Service (KFS). Two critical elements of the National REDD+ Programme are forest reference levels (FRL) and a National Forest Monitoring System (NFMS).

"Enhancing country capacity for UNFCCC reporting processes for the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use sector: Costa Rica" summarizes the support provided by FAO between 2013 and 2016 to the government of Costa Rica, through the Monitoring and Assessment of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Mitigation in Agriculture (MAGHG) project.
