LANDac is a partnership between several Dutch organizations and their Southern partners involved in development-related research, policy and practice with respect to land governance. The partners share a concern for the increase in land inequality and land-related conflicts. They are interested in how land governance – rules and practices on access to land – can be used to promote equitable and sustainable development in the Global South. LANDac aims to improve and strengthen the relationship between academic research and policy and practice in the area of international cooperation.

LONDON, Dec 29 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - As 2017 draws to a close, the term 'resilience' has become a buzzword for many humanitarian organisations and governments who are set on preparing for major disasters so any recovery is much easier.

Resilience covers broad disasters ranging from climate change induced floods and droughts to economic shocks and health epidemics.

NEW DELHI: Government's plantation projects under the compensatory afforestation fund scheme cannot be taken up on forest land where forest dwellers' rights have already been recognized, the tribal affairs ministry (MoTA) has said.

The University of Reading staged its first Land Symposium on Friday 1st December 2017, to discuss issues relating to the land struggles of the 21st century.

The event was organised by a committee of three doctoral students from the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development (SAPD) and brought together industry experts, academics and students to create a platform that aimed to foster coordination and engagement between researchers and professionals dealing with different aspects of land related research.
