The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Le présent arrêté du Gouvernement flamand règle l'arrêt volontaire, complet et définitif de la production de tous les effluents d'élevage provenant de volaille. L’article 2 établit que dans les limites des crédits budgétaires approuvés à cet effet, il est alloué une indemnité d'arrêt aux éleveurs de volaille qui cessent l'exploitation de la production de tous effluents d'élevage provenant de volaille sur un élevage existant, conformément aux conditions et modalités visées par le décret d'arrêt.
Regional Law No. 36-RZ “On objects of cultural heritage”.
This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of conservation, management, promotion and public protection of the objects of cultural heritage pertaining to the regional competence.
Décret modifiant le décret du 22 février 1995 relatif à l'assainissement du sol, en ce qui concerne l'assainissement de sites (1).
Notamment, on ajoute un article 5bis intitulé «Obligation de prévention et de gestion du sol». Dans le chapitre IV du même décret il est inséré une section 6 concernant l’Organisations d'assainissement du sol.

The overall objective of the present national cross-sectoral Forest Policy is to achieve sustainable forest management that would ensure sustainable increases in the economic, social and environmental benefits from forests and trees for the present and future generation including the poor and the vulnerable groups.
Regional Law No. 40-Z “On turnover of agricultural land”.
This Regional Law regulates relations dealing with ownership, tenancy and disposal of agricultural land. Maximum land area of agricultural land that can be owned by a single natural or legal person shall not exceed 20 percent or total agricultural alnd area within a given territory. Agricultural land plot can be expropriated in accordance with court decision in case of unpurposeful use thereof. In case of purchase and sale of agricultural land plots regional administration shall have preferential right of purchase.
