The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

These Measures, consisting of 31 Articles, are formulated in accordance with the Law on the Rural Land Contracting. A member of a rural collective economic organization is entitled to contract the rural land of such rural collective economic organization. The Contractor shall obtain the right to land contractual management after the contract enters into effect. The right to land contractual management obtained through household contract may, according to law, be circulated by subcontracting, leasing, exchanging, transferring or other means.

This Act makes provision for the appointment of the Director of Physical planning by then Governor-General, the constitution of the Town Planning Committee, grants powers to these institutions and the Minister in respect of town planning and provides rules relative to town planning. The Director shall be a technical adviser to the Minister and executive officer of the Committee. The Committee is granted powers to control town planning and construction in The Bahamas.

This Order amends the Land Registration (Proper Office) Order 2010 in the definition of “conveyancer” in article 2(2) order to include those who are or who employ authorized persons, authorized or licensed under the provisions of the Legal Services Act 2007 to carry on certain reserved instrument activities relating to land registration. The definition also includes public officers carrying on those activities.
