Operationalization of the VGGT through Innovative Mechanisms in Open and Transparent Land Governance
Positive futuremaking starts when space, time and land with its inhabitants are brought and thought together, when diverse forms of life on, with and off the land can be accepted as valid elements of futuremaking; when unnecessary distinctions among livelihoods and forms of existence are overcome; and when all members of society are trusted to cooperate to build states on peaceful terms.
This webinar took place in the frame of the County Insights initiative and marks the launch of Land Portal's new country portfolios for Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The aim was to unpack the topic of Responsible Agricultural Investment through experiences from these countries, while marking out tenure security risks for smallholders and the rural poor. In particular, the discussion will highlight new aims towards equitable and sustainable practices for land user and investor, comparing positive case examples, and challenges to promote inclusive measures.

The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) will organize a High-Level Virtual Special Event on Food Security and Nutrition, 13 - 15 October 2020. The session, in lieu of CFS 47 which has been rescheduled to 8 - 12 February 2021 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, will seek to keep food security and nutrition front and centre on the global sustainable development agenda.
Since 2002, the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia has been organising annual workshops to discuss instruments like land consolidation, land banking and land market development. This has created a European wide network of professionals from different countries and different organisations under FAO guidance.
