The government of Ghana through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources of Ghana has been assisting customary land authorities to strengthen customary land administration through the establishment customary land secretariats. The rationale for the support for customary land administration was to develop more effective and accountable systems of land administration at local level based on a collaborative approach and building on existing customary institutions.

This study focuses on land fragmentation in Ethiopia, exploring its impact on agricultural productivity and rural development. It proposes strategies for addressing fragmentation through land consolidation. The study employs a robust methodology, including data collection and analysis of  data, along with a meta-analysis of existing reports and studies on land fragmentation. Through these analytical approaches, the study aims to provide empirical evidence supporting the effectiveness of land consolidation strategies in Ethiopia.

Le Plan foncier rural (PFR) est un des instruments mis au point dans le cadre de l’aide internationale pour permettre la formalisation des droits fonciers coutumiers en Afrique, conformément aux prescriptions internationales en vigueur depuis les années 1980-90 1. Il consiste en un levé systématique, parcelle par parcelle, d’un territoire villageois, en couplant une enquête sur les droits (individuels ou collectifs) détenus (composante sociofoncière) et le levé des limites de la parcelle (composante topographique).
