The Africa Region Technical Workshop gathered diverse stakeholders involved in land administration across Sub-Saharan Africa to discuss the transition from pilot projects to nationwide land registration. With parallel sessions in both Anglophone and Francophone tracks, the workshop aimed to foster knowledge sharing, enhance South-South cooperation, and explore innovative solutions to the challenges of scaling up land rights registration. Presentations by government representatives covered essential topics such as fit-for-purpose technologies, institutional frameworks, and the sustainability of land administration reforms. The Anglophone session featured Ethiopia’s strategies for securing land tenure amid multiple shocks, highlighting innovative approaches and lessons learned. Rwanda's presentation focused on maintaining a new land administration system, providing insights into long-term sustainability. The Francophone track presented experiences from Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, and Madagascar, showcasing diverse regional perspectives. The interactive format encouraged participants to engage with real-world case studies, drawing practical lessons applicable to their own countries. The workshop underscored the importance of tailored strategies and regional cooperation to build effective and sustainable land administration systems across the continent.
