The overall aims shall be defined in the Development Plan of Mountain Areas by the Regional Council (art. 3). Further provisions regard the distribution of competences in this field among local entities. In particular, Mountain Communities shall exercise administrative functions in matter of agriculture (art. 5). Article 6 establishes the Standing Council for Mountains, whereas article 7 provides for the setting up of the Regional Fund for Mountains. A special information system concerning mountain areas is to be created (art. 8). Further provisions regard the granting of subsidies in particular production sectors, such as zootechnics, agriculture and forestry.
