This Act provides with respect to administration of estates left by deceased persons. It concerns, among other things, devolution of property on personal representative, powers of executors, rights and liabilities of administrator and duty of personal representative, procedures for grants of probate and administration, administration of assets, distribution of residuary estate. An interest in land shall not be administered unless the administrator shows to the satisfaction of the court that other assets of the estate are insufficient to pay the intestate's debts and expenses of his funeral and of taking out administration. The Act also concerns implications of administration for tenancy.
