This Regulation, consisting of 19 articles divided into four Chapters, regulates the Cooperation of Use of Forest Zones for Supporting Food Security. Purpose and objectives of this Regulation are: promoting cooperation in the use of forest areas to support food security as a reference for cooperating in the implementation of food crops and livestock development efforts to ensure the achievement of national food production, by applying the principles of good forestry governance. Development of food crops and livestock in forest areas, can be done by the following mechanism: a) changes in the allocation of forest areas through the release of forest areas or exchange of forest areas; b) the use of forest area in forest area through borrowing of forest area; and c) forest utilization. The development of food crops and livestock in forest areas can be done through co-operation mechanisms. Further provisions on the development of food crops and livestock in the forest area as referred to in paragraph (1) shall be regulated in separate Ministerial Regulations.
