The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Ministerial Decree stipulates that the Federal Registration Agency of Immovable Property shall be the authorized Federal institution regarding matters of land cadastre, planning, valuation, inventory and monitoring, and shall have the following plenary powers: (a) keep the state land cadastre; (b) carry out land use planning at the local level; (c) delimit national borders and administrative boundaries of municipal units; (d) evaluate land for cadastre purposes; (e) carry out monitoring and supervision of state land; and (f) undertake land surveys and mapping activities.
Acuerdo Nº 147 - Fraccionamiento de predios rurales en extensiones inferiores a las áreas de la Unidad Agrícola Familiar.
El presente Acuerdo señala los casos especiales en los cuales se autoriza el fraccionamiento de predios rurales en el país en extensiones inferiores a las áreas de la Unidad Agrícola Familiar determinada por el Incoder para la respectiva zona.

Private Roads and Sub-divisions Act (Cap. 256).
This Act makes provision, among other things, for the sub-division of land in which provision is made for the construction of access roads.Sub-division plans shall be approved by the Town and Country Planning Committee and the Minister in accordance with this Act. Also the alienation of lots that are not marked on the survey plan require the approval of the Committee. Appeal from decisions of the Committee may be had with the Minister.

Decree on identification and fixing of ecological damage to soil.
This Decree of the Ministry of Environment, which is composed of seven articles and one Annex, lays down methods of preparation of risk analysis, method of evaluation of the appropriateness and feasibility of fixing measures, determination of the aim of fixing measures and method of proving achievements of the aim, including method of comparison of alternative procedures of reduction or elimination of risks to human health, and way to assess these risks from direct or indirect introduction of substances, preparations, organisms or micro-organism to the Earth's surface or below it.

This Act makes provision, among other things, for the sub-division of land of the Out Islands in which provision is made for the construction of access roads.Sub-division plans shall be approved by the Minister in accordance with this Act. Also the alienation any land of new sub-divisions requires the approval of the Minister and shall be subject to certain conditions. Some other restrictions on alienation are specified for lots that are not marked on the approved survey plan.
