These Rules amend the Land Registration Rules 1925 so as to change certain procedural requirements with respect to powers of delegation and provisions regarding the use of the land register.
This Law provides rules applicable to the acquisition of land by the States through compulsory purchase on behalf of the public as authorized by Special Law, i.e. a Law confirmed by Order of Her Majesty in Council. The power under Special Law may include the right to acquire or extinguish a servitude or other right over land.
This Order, among other things, makes a transitory provision so that any references to “the Commission” or “the Crofting Commission” in the provisions of the Act are to be read as references to the Crofters Commission until the Crofters Commission is renamed the Crofting Commission.
